The Lone Runner

She darts like hare

In awe we stare

Do we dare

Afraid we’ll pale

IF YOU WANT FINANCIAL FREEDOM, TRY THIS....

This article is based in part on Bob Marley's theme song "Redemption Song" ( October 1980) Talking about Freedom from Apartheid, Slavery and other social injustices of his time, Bob Marley used this song to give hope of "Redemption" to the oppressed and at the same time urged them to shun pity party and swing into action towards their Redemption. He asked "How long shall they kill our prophets while we stand aside and look"
This song highlights the effects of all the social injustices, wars, strife, government corruption, senseless killings and other oppression being unleashed on the downtrodden people all over the world.

But the most interesting part of the song is  "Emancipate yourself from mental slavery. None but ourselves can free our minds"  The first step to any freedom is  mind's freedom. And nobody but you can free your own mind. Not your parents, not Transparency INTERNATIONAL, not UNICEF, not USAID,  not all the Human Rights Organizations put together  can. They can only help. But Only you can liberate you!
There may be typhoons, earthquakes, wars, famines, government "conspiracy theory", global warming, economic inequalities/difficulties, "atomic energy", brutal social injustices, but only  when you have emancipated your own mind that you can overcome them. You can choose to play the Victim card all your life, blaming people, cultures, religion, the government, corporations and other institutions which you have ABSOLUTELY no control over. But the one tiny thing that you can control, that you can liberate is your mind! Believing that you created everything in your life is the only way you can overcome. Then comes love and forgiveness. Forgiveness heals us first and helps us to move on. Then comes every other thing, including but not limited to financial freedom!
If we don't, we could be wallowing in untold abundance and still languishing in abysmal misery, in great mental slavery.

WHEN WOMEN ABUSE

There's no gainsaying the fact that women have always been prominently featured as victims of abuse. And they have been, especially domestic physical abuse. Some women have been so brutally battered that words won't describe it. But physical abuse is just a little fraction of the WHOLE pie, only it's always very obvious. But psychological/emotional/mental (whatever name you choose to call it) abuse is almost as horrific if not worse than physical abuse. However, since the searchlight has elaborately been focused on women, we tend to forget that a large percentage of men live with debilitating abuse - both verbal and physical. The former more deadly than the later because it only scars on the inside.
The truth is, Abuse is evil! It is inhuman! It doesn't matter whether the perpetrator is a man, woman, gay, lesbian, both sexes, no sex, animal. We need to unite to nib it in the bud. But unfortunately, men who are abuse victims seem to be hanged to dry.  You hardly hear of men on the news, or even at the kitchen table when they are the victims. Men themselves very rarely come forward either to the authority or even to friends or family as they fear no one will believe them. Other factors such as culture, religion, and mostly the children make men keep silent longer in abusive relationships. Others want to be "men", they don't want to risk being seen as weak or failure.
Talking to your religious leaders or a counselor though might not "cure" the abuse but it'll help lift some of it off your chest. Keeping records of  evidences also help with custody, and there are a million ways technology can help. When you have given it your best and the abuse still continues, leaving might be the last option. Remember, it doesn't make you a failure and it's way cheaper than doing something that you might regret rest of your life.

FOR MH370

THE 7  7 7

On the outside you look like a dolphin

But you are a blue whale herein

In the air you are a hummingbird

How could you fly your size so undeterred

Across the vast oceans with beautiful precision

Gliding through the sky with tons a million

From landing to take-off, you’re a sheer display of beauty

I look through the window, I am closer to the heavens than to the earth

Your wings spanning to the ends of the earth

Your tiny flashing lights, a great display of beauty

Is that the pilot serving cocktail

Yet we fly without derail

In speed so grave, yet engines without a wail

Am I in my sitting room?

No, I’m in my dining room

Do you really have it all?

Or am I just having a ball?

MH370 FOUND?

The dusts seem to have settled about the missing Malaysian Airline MH370. We, the people, were unable to find it. The media have for long
refocused their valuable resources on more "important" things. This has raised some serious questions about the ability of mankind to sustain and control their products, to protect ourselves. It also raises the question about how much we are willing to invest when disaster strikes and how much trust people around the globe have in governments.
It's greatly appalling and disappointing that in this Google/Apple age we could not find that beautiful 777, nor could we find the 239 precious lives aboard it. What if they were inducted by aliens who would stop at nothing but taking every plane in the sky in similar manner? Was that effort all we got? What if it was the Air Force One? Would we fold our hands and watch the endless speculations about it in the news?...What precautions have we taken against future occurrence? Would we have handled it differently if the passengers were from a different region or from a particular country? What lesson about safety did manufacturers learn from the unfortunate incident? Are governments doing enough to earn the trust of the people?
While we may not have the answers to these questions, we sure did learn quite a bit from the ugly incident especially in safety. We sent a man to the moon in 1969 when the world was still an infant "technologywise". We can basically do anything we deem fit now if we put greed and selfishness out of the way.

A LITLE BITE INTO CRIME

A LITTLE MORE BITE INTO CRIME

There’s no gainsaying the fact that violent crime like worm, has deeply eaten into the heart and soul of our society. From Maine to California, North Dakota to Texas, helpless old people have been brutally murdered, children and toddlers alike have also been killed with reckless abandon. Everybody has felt it to a degree, or has at least seen it on the news. The tears of the victims have formed huge torrents. In the words of George Orwell “No animal in England is free…”

Never a time in our history has it been more imperative to derail and disrupt this bloody trail  left on the pages of modern history by crime. The governments are not relenting in their fight to stop this menace. From putting heroic daring policemen on the streets, to investing heavily on technology, to building more prisons, and uncountable other measures, they show their unwavering determination to nail violent crimes to its coffin.

However, the questions still remain  ‘in the midst of all this noble measures why hasn't it stopped? Can we really lock our ways out of this?, or shoot our way out?

I’m not an expert on crime prevention and as such i don’t have definite answers to these troubling questions. But I think a reorientation of the youths, and teenagers in particular will give a little dent to this menace. I propose that a traveling program to third world be countries be introduced in our elementary/high schools. This will give these kids a different perspective on life. This kids are born in this affluent country. They grow up eating breakfast everyday with choice juices. They grow up with assorted lunch choices. They grow up eating dinner with deserts. They grow up playing video games, sometimes endlessly. They grow up talking to the teacher, sometimes rudely without the teacher talking back to them. They grow up overly pampered. They grow up being told they are angels, only without wings. They grow up spoiled! This is the culture they know, and sadly ALL they know.

It’s not a crime that this country is wafting in unquantifiable wealth, and have built a custom of unbridled waste of resources, particularly food. The country worked very hard to get here. They kinda earned it.
But just as they are two sides to every coin, the flip side is that kids, as well as some immature adults have taken undue advantage of this. They think it’s their rights. Everything has to be given, not worked for. And I think this contributes to laziness, petty crimes and by extension, and violent crimes.
It is therefore my suggestion that traveling programs be introduced to our school system. To send some of these kids to third world countries so they can see what life could be. It could be a week, two weeks or however long it takes. A day of seeing kid same age working their butts off in a small family business, or working for wages after school, or missing school days because there’s no money to pay their school fees, or going to school without food, barefooted,in half torn clothes, in sickness because there’s no money for hospital, or studying under a tree or in an uncompleted building, might be all that is needed to set a kid's mind right.
This is not going to put a permanent end to crimes, but I’m absolutely sure it’ll help.
Statistics also shows that most immigrants tend to look at life differently here, and most of the times do not commit crimes. They know one or more survival strategy. They also appreciate more the opportunities that this country offer and they take advantage of it.
This is the crux of the matter here- that kids be more appreciative of this great land of opportunity, and in turn be more useful to the society. This will be a little more dent to crimes.
